Marshall Willen's portable Bluetooth speaker features a retro rock-inspired design that delivers surprising bass despite its small size.

The fuselage is black and gold with cream white, maintaining the same classic Marshall color scheme, with two colors to choose from.

There is a bronze factory emblem on the front, and the brass multi-function button is located on the upper right of the fuselage. There is a waterproof USB-C charging port on the left side. There is an elastic strap on the back of the horn, which can be used to attach it to surfaces such as bike racks. The multi-function button can control power, volume, up and down, play, pause. Pretty easy to use controls. At the top of the fuselage, there is also a button to turn on Bluetooth pairing, and a button for the speaker microphone (press it to switch calls between the phone and Willen).

Willen's waterproof coefficient is IP67, which can be said to be very good, and can easily withstand basic life waterproofing. It can also be submerged in 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes. Use it outdoors on the beach, or rinse it off under the tap. Splashes from the pool and downpours do not pose too much risk, which I am also very impressed with!

Marshall Willen battery life is about 15 hours. In terms of the compact body, it can give a very good volume and 15 hours of use time, which has surpassed many portable Bluetooth speakers of the same level.

The Willen comes standard with a radio microphone, but the larger Emberton II doesn't, which means that the Willen can only be used to answer calls. Perhaps Marshall thinks Willen can be used as a teleconferencing system in the office or from home. Nevertheless, the editor believes that the call function is equally important on the Emberton II, because the size of the Emberton II can also shoulder the function of a computer speaker, and I expect that the small facelift will change.

The Marshall Willen app (for Android / iOS) offers three EQ adjustments: (Preset Logo Sound), (Boost Bass), and (Boost Mids for Vocals). It is a pity that the EQ cannot be adjusted in detail, which is a small disadvantage. The app provides speaker update and pairing multiple functions.

Both Marshall Willen and Emberton II support Stack Mode, which can amplify the sound and create stereo sound through the stack mode. Willen and Emberton II can be paired together for a more immersive sound. Marshall calls this "stack mode" or "stack mode". Initialize by pressing the bluetooth button three times on the first speaker and twice on the connected speaker. Now try connecting Willen to the Emberton II.
